Bug Fixes
- Fixed model downloads on VPN: Downloading AI models through a VPN or system proxy now works correctly. Previously, certain proxy configurations could block downloads.
- Fixed subtitle formatting when translating: When translating subtitles into another language, the formatting style (line length, punctuation, etc.) now correctly follows the rules for the output language rather than the source language.
- Fixed translation errors being silently ignored: If a translation fails, AutoSubs will now properly report the error instead of quietly falling back to the original text without telling you.
- Fixed Windows paths with special characters: Users on Windows whose username or file path contains special characters (e.g. accented letters) would sometimes run into issues. This is now resolved.
- Fixed export crash: An issue that could cause the export step to fail in certain situations has been fixed.
- Fixed custom prompt migration: Existing custom prompts from older versions of AutoSubs now migrate cleanly without accidentally stripping content.
- Fixed timeline refresh: An issue with the DaVinci Resolve timeline not refreshing correctly in some cases has been resolved.
Improvements
- Simpler custom prompt editor: The custom prompt interface has been streamlined into a single text area, making it easier to write and edit your own instructions. A warning is now shown if your prompt may conflict with the selected language.
- Improved Windows installation: The Windows version now handles its installation path more reliably, reducing the chance of path-related issues after install.
