Poznote 6.86.0

This stable release bundles everything published on the beta channel since 6.84.3: 6.84.4-beta, 6.85.0-beta, 6.85.1-beta, 6.85.2-beta, 6.85.3-beta and 6.85.4-beta. If you were on latest-and-beta you already have almost all of it; new since the last beta are the framed journal entries and the empty checkbox fix below. Beta testers can now put the image tag back to 6 (or latest) to stay on stable releases.

✨ New

• Dictation: record your voice from the slash menu (Insert > Dictate) and insert the transcript, through a speech-to-text server you host yourself. The guide covers tested Speaches and whisper.cpp setups, administrators set the maximum recording length and can let users point Dictation at their own server. #1377

• Record audio: record a voice note from the slash menu (Insert > Record audio) and add it to the note as an audio player, no transcription server needed. #1377

• Attachment menu: right-click an attachment inside a note to open, download, transcribe or delete it. Transcribe turns an audio file already attached to the note into text.

• Journal view: read all your diary entries in one scrolling column, each in its own frame, with a Dates panel to jump to any day (swipe right to left on phones to open it). The pencil, or a click in the text, edits an entry in place and saves as you type. #1367

• Diary menu: on desktop, right-click a diary pill to rename or delete the diary. The pill now shows even with a single diary, and the Today button reads "Create today's entry" or "Go to today's entry" depending on whether it already exists. #1367

• Icon colors: right-click a button in the left icon sidebar or in the note toolbar (including the entries of its ⋮ menu) to give its icon a color of your choice. Colors are saved to your account, and in Settings > Display a click on an icon in the list colors it along with the order.

• Startup guide: a brand new account opens on a page of its own instead of a dialog, and asks for the username, password, language, theme, date format and timezone. It shows once per account.
• Workspace order: arrange your workspaces yourself on the Workspaces page, by dragging a row by its handle or with the arrow keys. The order applies to every workspace list in the app.

• My Account: Settings now gathers your profile, password, API credentials, storage statistics and account deletion in a section of their own.

• Tabs: right-click a tab for "Close all except this one".

• MCP and API: attach files to notes, move notes and folders between workspaces, create diary entries, reach template notes, and page GET /notes (a truncated note content now says so). Closes #1369, #1368, #1371, #1364, #1370
• Safety snapshots: the number of snapshots kept before an AI or MCP edit is now a setting instead of a fixed 20. Closes #1365

🚀 Improved

• The format buttons of the note toolbar light up when the selected text already carries that formatting. Thanks @tonysantacruz! #1376
• A click in the notes list loads the note faster.
• UI Customization opens directly inside the Settings page. #1378
• The README and the documentation are available in French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Chinese, many interface texts that were still in English are translated, and the update notice links to the README in your language.

• New documentation: a page for the Chrome extension (connected with an app password), the personal API keys option in the AI Assistant guide, folder paths and paging in the REST guide, the Proxmox VE community script in the README, and a CONTRIBUTING page. #1374
• Folder paths behave the same way across every MCP tool, and the MCP documentation no longer promises that add_task appends a task without rewriting the list. Closes #1372
• The /template menu says templates can also live in a workspace named Templates.

🐛 Fixed

• Markdown: an empty checkbox line (- [ ] with no text after it, typically the last one of a list) showed up as raw text instead of a checkbox, in notes and on public shares. Fixes #1386
• A note simply open in your browser no longer blocks writes from MCP or the REST API. Only someone actually editing the note answers with 423, and the open tab still protects itself with its version check. Fixes #1366
• A note saved while you switched workspace could move to the other workspace. #1368
• MCP wrote into, and listed the folders of, the first workspace instead of your default one. Closes #1373
• MCP: a template is now converted to the requested note format instead of being pasted raw, and move_folder can move a folder to the root of its workspace. #1364 #1368
• API: creating a diary no longer turns an existing Diary folder into a plain folder, and listing folders no longer changes anything. #1371
• Windows .m4a recordings were rejected as not audio, and a long transcription ended on a bare 504 page instead of a clear message. #1377
• The text colour icon in the note toolbar showed up black and turned red on hover, it now follows the grey of its neighbours.
• The status notice of the Change Password modal lost its background colour in dark mode.
• The Git Sync hint pointed at Settings > Advanced Settings, the switch is in Settings > Admin Tools.
• The My Account link in the sidebar did not always open the right section of Settings.
