Poznote 6.72.0
A release focused on organizing your notes: drag-and-drop ordering, copy/cut/paste and undo in the sidebar tree, folder duplication and nested Kanban boards.
✨ New
- Notes can now be ordered by hand: drag a note and drop it above or below another one in the sidebar. A new "Manual (drag and drop)" sort option keeps the positions, per folder or as the default for the whole workspace.
-
Undo and redo for the sidebar tree. Moving, renaming, deleting or pasting a note or folder can be taken back with Ctrl+Z and redone with Ctrl+Shift+Z (Cmd on macOS). Deleting a folder is undone as a whole, subfolders and notes included.
-
Copy, cut and paste notes and folders in the sidebar tree, with Ctrl+C / Ctrl+X / Ctrl+V or from the ⋮ and right-click menus. A cut note can be pasted into any folder, or at the root.
- Duplicate a folder from its menu: the copy keeps every note (attachments included), subfolders, icon, color, Kanban mode and sort setting. Links between notes of the copied tree point at the copies, so a folder can serve as a template. Also available in the API:
POST /api/v1/folders/{id}/duplicate.
- Kanban boards now show nested subfolders as collapsible groups inside their parent column. Cards can be dropped straight into a group, and the expanded state of each group is remembered.
- UI Customization is now a single settings card for administrators, with a "Me" column for their own interface and a "Users" column for every other user of the instance.
- The Tasks page groups the tasks of each note in its own card, so consecutive notes read as distinct blocks.
🐛 Fixes
-
Pressing Enter at the very start of a heading now opens a plain line above it instead of an empty heading.
-
The favorite star option added in 6.71.0 has been removed from the note actions menu and from UI Customization: favorites are managed from the opened note's menu only.
-
The Shares page uses a lighter desktop layout (no card outline or column separators), with the link column centered and a wider gap between columns, in light and dark themes.
- On mobile, new modals no longer end up behind other panels.

I'd love for Poznote to be available to as many people as possible, including those who don't know how to self-host (like my wife! 😋). If you'd like to support the project, you can vote for Poznote on PikaPods so they see there's demand and add it to their catalog. It takes only few seconds! It's right here: https://feedback.pikapods.com/posts/1194/poznote-open-source-self-hosted-app-submission. Thanks!
