Poznote 6.111.3
Still working on the "Rich Text Markdown" view, with a round of fixes to formatting and editing in Markdown notes. #1582
🚀 Improvements
Rich text markdown view
- The caret now moves through hidden markers like in any rich text editor: Arrow left and right stop once, Home goes to the start of the text, and Backspace at the start of a list item acts on the item.
- Tab on a line of text inserts four spaces, as in an HTML note. Lists, tables and code blocks keep their own Tab behaviour.
- Bold or italic typed up to the end of a line carries over to the next one. Pressing the shortcut again turns it off before anything is typed.
- A format applied to a selection spanning several lines turns on or off for all of them at once.
- Enter in a list item in front of a space no longer leaves that space at the start of the new item.
Other improvements
- Code blocks in Markdown notes now have a delete button, as in HTML notes. Ctrl+Z brings the block back.
- The line numbers you show or hide on a code block are remembered per note, in the preview and in the live views, and survive a reload.
- "Clear formatting" is available in Markdown notes too. It removes bold, italic, colours and code from the selection and keeps the text and its links.
- "Default" in the colour palette and "None" in the highlight palette now remove the colour from the selection instead of wrapping it in one more span.
- The Link button and the slash command edit the link the caret is in, or remove it, instead of inserting a second one inside it.
- Pasting a heading, a list, a table or several lines in the middle of a line now starts them on a line of their own.
- Turning a list item into a heading, or a heading into a task, replaces the marker instead of stacking both.
- Bullets and list numbers in the live views are drawn in the text colour, and code blocks share the background of HTML note code blocks.
❤️ Enjoying Poznote?
Poznote went open source almost a year and a half ago now. Since then I have not made any money from it, and it actually costs me money. Hosting for the demo instance, the website, the domain name, a VPS for development and tests, mail and AI subscriptions, storage, backups, monitoring and more. So every coffee is welcome, it really helps me maintain and improve Poznote.
Thank you to everyone whose donations have allowed Poznote to keep growing and become what it is today. If you would like to support the project, it is this way: Ko-fi.
