Docker Image Versioning Support

Poznote now supports semantic version tags for Docker images, allowing better control over updates.

Available Tags

Every stable release creates these tags automatically:

poznote:4.2.0    # Exact version
poznote:4.2      # Minor version (auto-updates to 4.2.x)
poznote:4        # Major version (auto-updates to 4.x.x) ✅ Recommended
poznote:latest   # Always newest stable

Recommended Usage

services:
  webserver:
    image: ghcr.io/timothepoznanski/poznote:4  # Auto-update within v4, no breaking changes

Benefits:

• Automatic security patches and features within v4
• Manual control when v5 releases
• No breaking changes

Important Notes

• ⚠️ Not a breaking change - existing poznote:latest continues to work
• ⚠️ Updating to :4 tag is recommended but optional
• ⚠️ Watchtower only updates images, not config files - manual updates recommended for production

Upgrading

Follow the standard update procedure in the README.

No data migration required.
