tiicu continues to evolve based on your feedback! This third alpha release brings critical fixes, exciting new console support, and powerful customization options for PSP emulation.

What's New

FIXED: Custom ROM Paths

The custom ROM path feature now works correctly! Configuration has been moved to a new location with improved formatting:

New Configuration Location:

sdmc:/tiicu/config/roms.jsonc

Inside your custom path, continue organizing consoles in separate folders as before.

Home Screen Enhancements

Several quality-of-life improvements make managing your shortcuts easier:

  • Fixed: Moving shortcuts no longer creates duplicates
  • Improvement: "Add to homescreen" automatically navigates to the first page with available slots
  • New Alert: You'll now be notified when all home screen pages are full

NEW: Sega Console Support

Dive into Sega's legendary library! tiicu now supports four classic Sega platforms:

  • Sega Game Gearsdmc:/tiicu/{covers,heros,roms,saves,states}/game-gear/
  • Sega Master Systemsdmc:/tiicu/{covers,heros,roms,saves,states}/master-system/
  • Sega Mega Drive (Genesis) — sdmc:/tiicu/{covers,heros,roms,saves,states}/genesis/
  • Sega CDsdmc:/tiicu/{covers,heros,roms,saves,states}/sega-cd/

Organize your Sonic collection and classic Sega hits the same way as other systems!

PSP Core Improvements

Advanced Customization: You can now fine-tune PPSSPP settings to match your preferences!

Settings Location:

sdmc:/tiicu/config/cores/ppsspp.jsonc

Recommended: Use Visual Studio Code for editing JSONC files, soon tiicu will have an UI to handle settings in app.

CHD Support: PSP games in CHD format are now fully supported, saving valuable SD card space while maintaining perfect compatibility.

PlayStation Core Fix

  • Fixed: Analog stick/axis controls now function properly in PS1 games

Installation

Same straightforward process:

  1. Copy the tiicu folder to the root of your SD card
  2. Place tiicu.nro inside the switch folder
  3. Launch any game while holding R to open the Homebrew Menu
  4. Open tiicu
  5. Enjoy!

IMPORTANT: tiicu DOESN'T WORK IN APPLET MODE

Quick Tips

Navigation:

  • Use ZL or ZR to navigate between docked screens
  • Use L or R to swap pages on the Home Screen

In-Game:

  • Press + and - together to suspend gameplay and access game options

BIOS Requirements

PlayStation (PS1)

To run PS1 games, you need your legally dumped BIOS:

  • Copy SCPH1001.bin from your console
  • Place it in: sdmc:/tiicu/system/psx/

Sega Systems

Sega systems require various BIOS files depending on the console and game region. All Sega BIOS files should be placed in:

sdmc:/tiicu/system/sega-cd/

Required BIOS files by system:

Sega CD / Mega CD:

  • bios_CD_U.bin — Sega CD (NTSC-U)
  • bios_CD_E.bin — Mega CD (PAL)
  • bios_CD_J.bin — Mega CD (NTSC-J)

Choose the BIOS that matches your game's region

Master System:

  • bios_U.sms — Master System (NTSC-U)
  • bios_E.sms — Master System (PAL)
  • bios_J.sms — Master System (NTSC-J)

Game Gear:

  • bios.gg — Game Gear TMSS BOOTROM

Mega Drive:

  • bios_MD.bin — Mega Drive TMSS BOOTROM

Optional Enhancement ROMs:

  • sk.bin — Sonic & Knuckles (2 MB)
  • sk2chip.bin — Sonic & Knuckles UPMEM (256 KB)
  • ggenie.bin — Game Genie
  • areplay.bin — Action Replay (Pro)

Super Nintendo (Satellaview)

For Satellaview games on SNES, you need:

  • Copy BS-X.bin to: sdmc:/tiicu/system/snes/
