- Fixes and Improvements
1:
New installs now start in Simple mode, which hides advanced options. Hidden options keep their values and still apply. Switch modes through Program > Advanced Mode or Basic Settings > Style > Interface.
2:
Throne can now run without a GUI through Docker or as a service, for routers, VMs and other machines without a desktop. Both headless and desktop Throne can be controlled remotely through the Throne API, using the thronectl tool or the library from Throne-api. thronectl web serves a password-protected web UI. Refer to the documentation for more details.
3:
Refer to the documentation for more details.
4:
The IP Scanner tests a list of IPs for specific traits, such as a TLS handshake or a URL test through a profile, to find reachable CDN or WARP ranges.
5:
When enabled, no traffic can leave the device (except some LAN/discovery ranges) unless it is tunneled through Throne.
6:
Backups can now be uploaded to and restored from any WebDAV server (Nextcloud, a NAS, Yandex Disk, ...) through the Backup section of Basic Settings. The WebDAV credentials stay on the device and are never included in a backup.
7:
The main macOS builds now require macOS 14.4 or newer; older macOS versions should use the macoslegacy build. The zip, deb and rpm builds that bundle Qt now run on older distributions such as Ubuntu 20.04, Debian 11 and RHEL/AlmaLinux 8.
8:
Stable releases are now published to Throne's own Homebrew tap (brew install --cask throneproj/tap/throne) and to apt, rpm and AUR repositories. Refer to the documentation for more details.
