Fire Emblem 7 Legacy

Fire Emblem 7 Legacy is an enhancement hack which sits as a side project in TheSmithPlays Legacy Series of Romhacks. If you know Smith, one of his guilty pleasures outside Pokemon Crystal is the original western Fire Emblem 7. After the completion of the Legacy trio, Smith, as per usual, decided to explore a creative project, which led to the Creation of Fire Emblem 7 Legacy.

The Legacy games were designed with the philosophy of what Smith refers to as the “perfect” version of the game. This simply aims to imagine the the game at it’s fullest potential with 20 years of retrospect. This is achieved by making changes to make the game as optimal, engaging and fleshed out as possible while still retaining its original identity. This involves quality of life changes, tons of balancing, small map tweaks, and a lot of other small tweaks to make an overall improved or “perfect" version of the game. We want people to play this and feel like they are still playing the original game and get that blast of nostalgia but with an improved experience.

Tons of work went into this project with basically a whole new team to support it. There are so many testers and other projects we used things from that we have a whole section on the main README called Credits if you want to look. We made a list of contributors to this project and a list of projects and their creators we took ideas from. We recommend checking out the games on this list if you are a fan of Fire Emblem as there are a ton of great romhacks here.

Requirements

• You will need a clean copy of an English base US Fire Emblem 7 ROM.
  • We cannot tell you how or where to get this, as it is illegal.
    However, you can easily find out with a quick search.
  • The ROM must be clean. No randomizers, no other hacks, and no modified versions.
  • Ensure the ROM is from the US region. The EU or AU versions will not work.
  • Note that the US release was simply titled Fire Emblem, not Fire Emblem 7.

Installation Instructions

1. Download the file
   Fire Emblem 7 Legacy V1.0 Patches.zip below.
2. Unzip the file by right-clicking and selecting
   Extract All or Extract Here.
3. Inside, open the Patching Instructions folder.
   You’ll find readme files in multiple formats.
   with detailed instructions for patching on PC, Android, and iOS.
4. Once patched, we recommend renaming the output ROM to
   Fire Emblem 7 Legacy to keep it organized.
5. Check the SHA-1 hash of your newly patched rom by loading it into Rom Patcher JS. The hash should be 8645167b229d764588e1842f9d211f5de5423d5d. If it is not EXACTLY this, something has gone wrong and you should check your base rom and start again.
