v4.9.9 - 2026-08-16

Added

  • Added Linux installer coverage that guards the dedicated retroiptvguide service
account, /opt/retroiptvguide app path, /etc/retroiptvguide configuration path,
/var/lib/retroiptvguide state path, safe uninstall behavior, explicit purge behavior,
and CI enforcement against reintroducing shared /home/iptv ownership assumptions.

Changed

  • Standardized Linux installs on the isolated layout:
    • application code and virtualenv in /opt/retroiptvguide
    • administrator-managed environment file in /etc/retroiptvguide
    • mutable state and app logs in /var/lib/retroiptvguide
    • dedicated retroiptvguide service account for retroiptvguide.service
  • Linux migration from /home/iptv/iptv-server is now automatic when the v4.9.9+
installer or updater detects the legacy RetroIPTVGuide layout.
  • Automatic migration rewrites the current systemd unit, copies legacy application state
into /var/lib/retroiptvguide, and only removes iptv-server.service when that unit
is confirmed to belong to RetroIPTVGuide.
  • Linux uninstall now removes the service and application directory while retaining
/etc/retroiptvguide, /var/lib/retroiptvguide, and any untouched legacy tree for
reinstall or rollback. Explicit purge is required to remove retained config/state.

Fixed

  • Removed Linux uninstall behavior that relied on shared-user cleanup patterns such as
user-wide process termination or recursive user-home deletion.
  • Hardened the v4.9.9 legacy-layout migration so backup creation must succeed before
destructive steps continue, migrated persistent state is validated before the success
marker is written, legacy state conflicts are preserved explicitly, and safe cleanup
    only runs after validation succeeds.
