We reenable the cursor free method, reorders now land the moment you drop an item, and the cursor stays yours. Plus, a fix for layouts saved on macOS 26 being discarded on 27.

Thanks to @lathe-agent-oa (@TheBenMeadows) for #1085, the report that showed how layouts saved on macOS 26 were being discarded on 27, complete with the identifier pairs that made the fix possible.
Upgrade from 3.0.0-alpha.1
- Thaw asks for one new permission on launch: access to the menu bar layout table. A file panel opens on that one file. Select it, press Grant Access, done. Full Disk Access still works if you prefer it.
- Nothing else to do. Profiles, saved layouts, and hotkeys carry over untouched.
- Layouts saved on macOS 26 come back. Items that changed identity with the upgrade are matched to their saved entries again.
Menu bar
- Reorders write the layout table. macOS 27 keeps every item's position in one protected file. With access to it, a move is a write and the bar re-sorts on its own in well under a second. The synthetic drag that hid the cursor and held your mouse for a second and a half is off.
- Menu bar layout access. The permission behind that write. You select the file once. The grant survives relaunches, app updates, and system updates. It is required, so onboarding asks for it next to Accessibility.
Fixes
- When a saved layout does not apply, the log now says whether the order already matched or whether the saved entries no longer resolve to anything on the bar.
Known issues
- iStats menu bar items may be hidden when another item gets hidden. We are working with the iStats developers to resolve this issue.
- An app with several menu bar items that renamed them in the macOS 27 upgrade may need those items reassigned once by hand.
