Quiver Launcher 3.4.0
Quiver Launcher v3.4.0 is out now! For this release the focus was to try tighten the experience for you all
- Improved the appearance of App Catalog lists
- Improved the Platform detection for apps. The community catalog repo now indexes apps and their releases, so Quiver Launcher can initially know what platforms the apps support, without having to rely heavily on the user's GitHub token to fetch
- Fix Locate Existing Install option for an app being overridden by Library updates
- Improve GitHub rate limit error visibility, and make it easier for users to set up a GitHub token to avoid rate limits
- In Settings -> Appearance added an Interface scale option, in case the text in Quiver Launcher was too small for users on high resolution monitors
- Improved Settings -> Controls screen, much nicer layout now
- Clicking the Check Update button on the top right will now let the user know what apps need updating. This wasn't happening if the user didn't have Prompt when library apps have updates settings ticked in Settings -> General
- For new users, make Tag lines on library card set to 1 line, for a cleaner initial look
- Fix issues with Create Desktop shortcut and Add to Steam options
- Smarter selection of what app binary/executable to install for an app. Eg if you're on Windows and there's only one valid Windows download option for your app, it will just install that instead of asking you to choose between Linux / Mac / etc downloads. For Linux, you will still see binary, app image and windows download options (since you might be using Proton)
- Exclude apps in App Catalog review counts that aren't compatible with the platform you're on
- Fix glitchy text inputs that wouldn't allow you to paste in text
Android
- Improved app install experience
- Fix apk's inside zip folders not being installed properly
- Fixed uninstalling of Apps
- Added an in-app updater for Quiver Launcher itself (Settings -> General)
