Quiver 2.2.1
Patch release with UX polish for catalog review, manual update checks, and error dialogs.
Highlights
Catalog review
- Alphabetical app list by default — Review rows sort by name (A–Z) instead of catalog JSON order
- Sort control — Top-bar Sort by on review screens: Name (A–Z / Z–A), Repository (A–Z), Status (Changed → New → Up to date)
- Persisted preference — Last chosen sort mode is saved in settings
Manual update check
- One flow, one summary — The update button checks Quiver and your apps without a mid-check “Launcher is up to date” popup
- Update Check Complete dialog — Single summary after both phases (all clear, app updates, launcher update, or check errors)
- Deferred launcher prompt — If a Quiver update is available, the install prompt appears after the summary
- Clearer tooltip — “Check for Quiver and app updates” / “Checking Quiver and apps…” while running
- Progress bar fix — Checking indicator stays under the sync button instead of stretching across the top bar
Error dialogs and install help
- Compact error dialogs — Download/install errors use size-to-content layout instead of a large empty 800×400 window
- Windows Defender guidance — Install failures blocked by antivirus include steps to check Windows Security → Protection history and allow the item if you trust it (Windows only)
- Update badge fix — Orange update-count badge on the sync button no longer clips at the top
