Zones v0.4.0 adds support for the T13 network upgrade, which brings the Zones prover to Tempo. Zone sequencers should upgrade before T13 activates on their network.
This is also the first Zones release from tempoxyz/tempo, which is now the monorepo for Tempo, Zones and the prover. The old tempoxyz/zones repository is archived, and future Zones releases will be published here under zones/vX.Y.Z tags.
Important
T13 activates on Moderato testnet on October 29, 2026 at 16:00 CET, and on mainnet on November 3, 2026 at 16:00 CET.

What's new
T13 support
- The T13 prover works out of the box. This release has the measurements (PCRs) for Prover v0.4.0 built in. A sequencer trusts that prover for T13 without any extra setup. (#8608, #8597)
- You no longer need to pass an attestation policy. Setting
--sequencer.prover-addressis enough. The sequencer checks each prover against the built-in measurements for its hardfork. If a hardfork you assigned a prover to has no measurements, the node won't start. You can still use--sequencer.prover-attestation-policyto override them. (#8391)
More reliable block production
- Slow or failing proofs no longer stall the zone. If collecting a block's witness fails or takes more than 500 ms, the zone keeps producing blocks without it, and the batch settles without a proof. A slow shadow prover also can't hold up the zone's L1 sync anymore. (#8681)
- No more endless retries for missing witnesses. If the L1 can't serve a block's proof data, the node tries once and moves on instead of retrying forever. (#8724)
- The solvency checker keeps running after brief storage errors. It used to switch off until the node restarted. Now it retries. (#8609)
