Security & Reliability
- EVM call input hardening: Performance improvement for the EVM.
- Trie iterator fix: Updates reth with a fix for trie iterator seeks.
- DKG robustness (#8787, #8852, #8709, #8808): Rejects and blocks peers that send undecodable DKG messages, rejects boundary outcomes for the wrong epoch when healing, limits per-peer DKG work, and restores dealer state correctly on restart.
- Finalization and restarts (#8809, #8466, #8689): Checks cached and executed blocks at the finalized tip height, paces block production from the header timestamp, and keeps observed follower identities across restarts.
- Consensus RPC subscriptions (#8770, #8766): Caps consensus subscriptions and drops slow subscribers. The node now warns when the consensus RPC module is served without being selected.
- Dependencies (#8636, #8674, #8771): Patches RUSTSEC-2026-0386 (tokio), and bumps zstd and libz-sys.
