Highlights
- Kernel modules are verified before install (#117). Downloaded
iptable_raw/ip6table_rawmodules are checked against theSHA256SUMSpublished in synology-kernelmodules, and nothing is copied into place unless both match. - Docker 28+ updates check for modules first (#132). If no modules are published for your kernel and platform, the update stops before the backup or any download, instead of after fetching ~115 MB.
- DSM 6 fixes (#121), tested on DSM 6.2.4 on a DS918+:
- Service control uses
pkgctl-Docker, soupdate, logger, restore, stop, andstartwork on DSM 6. - The platform is detected on DSM 6 (no
platform_namethere). - The runtime probe finds the root-only DSM service tools without
sudo. - Docker Engine 27.x is the newest DSM 6 can use. No kernel modules exist for DSM 6 kernels, so 28+ is refused with advice to use
--docker 27.5.1.
- Service control uses
- Confirmation prompt ignores pasted input. Anything typed or pasted before
[y/N]is discarded, so a pasted block can't answer it. - Container list header lines up with short names and with no containers.
- Docs: the README records the DS918+ testing for DSM 6, and notes that shared-folder ACLs override the backup's owner-only permissions.
Updating
cd synology-docker
git pull
sudo ./syno_docker_update.sh updateNew here, or still have containers on the db logger? Follow the README first.
On DSM 6, use sudo ./syno_docker_update.sh --docker 27.5.1 update.
To use exactly this version, run git checkout 3.2.0 in your copy (git checkout main returns to the latest), or download synology-docker.tar.gz below.
