H6199 Older-Revision Test Candidate

Targeted prerelease for issue #293, concerning H6199 HW 1.00.01 / FW 1.07.02. Based on v7.6.0-rc.2.h6199, not the stable branch. This is an owner-test candidate, not a claim that the older hardware is fully qualified.

What Changes

• Newer video-register replies no longer block basic setup. Hardware/firmware applicability controls their queries and writes.
• Optional-query failures are isolated from successful basic readback; real connection failures still fail setup.
• Positively identified H6199 Pact 1/1 devices expose on/off only. Their brightness, colour, music and segment wire formats differ from Pact 2 and remain unqualified. This restriction is selected from the advertisement, not inferred from the hardware version. Power-only devices do not appear in Effect Studio.
• Unknown Pact retains existing model behavior, without claiming Pact 2 compatibility.
• Includes independently reviewed fixes for reconnect qualification, profile transitions, state restoration, segment confirmation and lossless Kaitai payload handling.
• Does not add the proposed AA14 handshake, change keepalive timing, flash firmware or enable cloud control.

Please Test

1. Back up Home Assistant. In HACS, select this exact prerelease for Govee LED BLE, download it, then restart Home Assistant.
2. Reload the existing H6199 entry first; removal is not necessary to test setup. If no entry exists, add it normally.
3. Report whether setup loads and whether on/off works. If only on/off is exposed, that is the intentional Pact 1 restriction, not an installation error.
4. Download integration diagnostics immediately after any failure and include the exact installed RC. Diagnostics should show the detected Pact and effective capabilities. Redact identifiers; do not post a full unredacted HA log, Bluetooth address, serial number, account or network details.

If setup never loads, enable debug logging for custom_components.ha_govee_led_ble and provide only the relevant redacted setup/protocol errors. Do not reapply the earlier optimistic-fallback workaround: it would hide the result this candidate needs to measure.

Verification

Independent runtime, applicability and Kaitai reviews completed. make check passed, including 2,243 Python tests (79 skipped), frontend unit/browser tests, lint, type checking and generated-code verification. No physical older-H6199 qualification is claimed.

The attached ZIP and SHA-256 checksum are produced by the exact-commit prerelease workflow. Runtime manifest version is 7.6.0rc3.
