Fix: Discord kept showing the server you just left
Switching servers sometimes left your Discord status advertising the old one.
Why: the presence thread polls every 5 seconds, so it only ever samples the server address. A change that happened and reverted inside one tick was invisible - measured live, a switch away and back within 1.4 seconds produced no update at all, and the profile kept showing the old server for 25 seconds until something unrelated triggered a refresh.
Fix: a server change now wakes the presence thread immediately instead of waiting for the next poll. Your status updates the moment you connect somewhere new.
Fix: launcher updates arrive with the update that shipped them
The launcher setup runs at game startup, which meant the copy that ran was the one on disk before the update - so a release that improved the launcher only took effect on the launch after. The updater now runs the new setup straight after copying files, so launcher changes land in the same update.
Note this one takes effect from the release after this one, since the updater that runs during an upgrade is whichever copy was already installed.
From 1.7.20
- The launcher can update itself. It was installed once and then never updated again.
- The launcher shows the real rVclient version instead of a number that appeared nowhere else.
From 1.7.18 - 1.7.19
- Global chat is genuinely worldwide - it reaches every server, via a second text-only room.
- The first Global message of a session was sent before the room finished connecting and went nowhere. It is now queued and sent once connected.
From 1.7.17
- The rVclient launcher (beta), rvclient:// invite links, voice mute actually muting voice, and Discord rejoin/Join fixes.
Known limitations
- The launcher's Friends tab is placeholder data for now.
- Friends seeing "Launch Game" instead of "Join"? That is Discord > User Settings > Activity Privacy, not the mod. Both people need activity sharing enabled.
