Fix: you no longer hear players from other servers
If two servers were running (say a US one and a UK one), players on different servers could hear each other's voice chat, and text chat leaked between them too.
Root cause: ODIN (the voice service) is one global service, and every client joined the same hardcoded room named rumbleverse. That meant every player in the world was in one room regardless of which server they were actually playing on. Proximity voice only knows your in-world X/Y/Z coordinates - it has no idea which server you are on - so if a player on the UK server happened to stand near the same map coordinates as a player on the US server, they were close enough to hear each other. Text chat rides the same room, so it leaked the same way.
Fix: the room name is now derived from the server you are connected to (rumbleverse-<server address>), so each server gets its own isolated voice and text room. Switching servers tears down the old room and joins the new one. Until the client knows which server you are on, it joins no room at all rather than falling back to the shared one.
What you should notice: you only hear people on your own server. Everything else about proximity voice is unchanged.
Nothing to configure; no settings change.
Updating
- Close the game completely.
- Copy the new
Client.dllinto…\Rumbleverse\Binaries\Win64\, overwriting the old one. - Launch - done. Your
RVVoiceConfig.txtsettings are kept.
(Auto-updater installs this automatically on next launch.)
