read_howard_manifest companion resolution + parquet companions
A patch to v0.12.0's read_howard_manifest reader, hardening how it handles omitted companions.
- Correct error type for a missing default companion. An omitted
pvar/psamwhose default file is simply absent now raisesfile not found(which the howard consumer maps toCatalogError) instead of the misleadingverification failed (companion unreadable). - Parquet companions, end to end. Companions may be text or parquet (
.pvar.parquet/.psam.parquet), declared explicitly or discovered. An omitted companion is resolved exactly the wayread_pfilediscovers it (parquet sidecar first, then native text); verification reads the resolved companion parquet-aware; and thepvar/psamoutput columns now emit the resolved path (no longerNULL), so a consumer reads the same file the manifest verified — a bare.pvar.parquetsidecar is no longer missed by a text-only read. - CMake 4.x.
plinking_yyjson's include is scoped toBUILD_INTERFACE, so a fresh configure succeeds on CMake 4.x (this was latent in v0.12.0). - Docs.
