Tailscale Backend
- Tailscale now prefers IPv6 over IPv4 when sending encrypted packets between nodes. Note: this does not yet make IPv6 available inside the Tailscale network (8b3f6be)
- Improved graceful reaction to network changes like switching from wifi to cellular data, or moving a laptop between different networks while asleep
- MTU has been adjusted to avoid packet loss on Google Cloud and for DSL users (#246)
- DERP fallback connectivity is now available even in networks that completely block outbound UDP (6284454)
- We've added a DERP relay in Sydney. This significantly improves the latency of the TCP fallback path in Australia and New Zealand (4e0ee14)
Tailscale CLI
- Linux, FreeBSD and OpenBSD now has a
tailscale status
to inspect the local state of the network engine. Add--json
for a machine-parseable JSON form (the format may change in future)
Windows
- Windows no longer resets active connections when new nodes are added to the network (dc9b39e)
iOS
- The iOS app now uses iOS AuthenticationServices for login. This makes Tailscale usable with Google accounts enrolled in the Advanced Protection Program
- The iOS app consumes less memory and CPU, which should make it more stable during prolonged use.
