Upgrade notice
- Upgrading from 4.3.x or 4.4.0-beta.1/beta.2? macshot has a new developer signature, introduced in beta.3. macOS may ask you to grant permissions again. If Screen Recording already looks enabled but capture fails, remove macshot with the minus button (−) in System Settings, then add it back from Applications with the plus button (+). Re-enable Accessibility or Input Monitoring if prompted. Your settings, history and recordings are preserved. Users who already restored permissions in beta.3 or beta.4 should not need to repeat this.
Fixed
- OCR on macOS 27: text recognition could hang or return no text. Recognition now has a timeout and a fast fallback, shared by OCR, screenshot translation, auto-redaction and the smart marker. (#439)
- Microphone recording failed even while its level meter reacted: older builds could save a temporary default microphone ID that stopped working after restarting macshot. These stale selections now resolve to the current default microphone. Explicitly selected microphones are preserved, including when disconnected.
- Microphone level meter now listens to the selected recording microphone instead of always using the system default.
