- Video censor segments — a new effect type alongside zoom. Define a rectangular region on the video that's obscured for a given time window, with three styles: solid black, pixelate, or gaussian blur. Two censors can overlap to blur different regions simultaneously.
- Direct-manipulation effect rectangles — when a zoom or censor segment is selected, drag/resize the rect directly on the video preview. For zoom, the rect defines the zoom target (zoom level is derived from rect size, clamped 1.2×–5×). For censor, the rect defines the region to hide. Replaces the earlier mini-thumbnail popover.
- Multi-row effects band — overlapping zooms and censors stack into separate rows automatically. Up to 4 rows visible; beyond that the effects band scrolls vertically. Row separators keep stacked pills readable.
- Cursor-follow "+" affordance — hover the effects band to see a "+" follow your cursor, click to open the Add Effect menu at that position. Right-click any empty spot or existing pill also opens a context menu.
- Fade submenu on pills — right-click a zoom or censor pill to pick a fade duration (None / 0.15 / 0.35 / 0.50 / 1.00 s). Applies to both fade-in and fade-out.

- Recording color space is now forced to sRGB at capture time (macOS 14+), fixing washed-out playback when recording on Display P3 screens.

- Blur and pixelate filters no longer wash out the untouched portions of the frame — compositor now uses a linear working color space and tags the output buffer with the source color space.
