- Added the ability to escape a template tag with a backslash, e.g.
\{{ title | slugify }}, to output it as is. This lets the Hidden field store a template for a static site generator like Eleventy or Hugo. (#1124) - Spaces inside the curly braces and around the pipe character are now optional in every template tag of the configuration, e.g.
{{ slug }}or{{ title|upper }}. Previously, some tags were only recognized without spaces, including{{now}}as the DateTime field’s default value,{{locale}}in a folder or file path, and the commit message template tags. This effectively solves decaporg/decap-cms#7221, which was only partially solved in Decap CMS with no tests added. - Bug fixes and performance improvements.
