- HEIC photos from iPhones and Android phones can now be converted on upload. When image optimization is enabled with the
raster_imageor the newheictransformation, Image fields and the Asset Library accept HEIC files and convert them to WebP, so they can be displayed on your site, which no browser other than Safari can do with HEIC. Decoding runs within the browser in a Web Worker, taking about half a second for a 12-megapixel photo. A HEIC photo renamed to.jpgrather than converted, a common cause of the “corrupt or mislabelled file” warning, is detected by its content and converted as well. If your site adopts a Content Security Policy, addblob:to theworker-srcdirective; the CSP builder has been updated. (#741, #890) - Bug fixes and improvements.
