- Related entries can now be created on the fly from a Relation field. An Add button, e.g. “Add Tag”, opens a dialog with the fields of the related collection. The new entry is selected right away and saved together with the entry you’re editing, in a single commit, so the two never go out of sync. The button isn’t offered under the Editorial Workflow, where a pull request stands for a single entry. This effectively solves decaporg/decap-cms#3821 and decaporg/decap-cms#4369. (#493)
- Deleting an entry now cascades to the entries referencing it through a Relation field, which are updated in the same commit. The deletion is refused if that would leave a
requiredfield empty or a multi-select field below itsmin, and the dialog lists the entries in the way, so referential integrity is maintained without breaking any entry. This effectively solves decaporg/decap-cms#717, decaporg/decap-cms#5750 and decaporg/decap-cms#6895. (#624) - Likewise, deleting an asset clears the File and Image fields holding it and removes the Markdown images embedding it, in the same commit, and is refused if that would leave a required field empty.
- The
publish_modeoption can now be set per collection, so the Editorial Workflow can be required for the collections that need a review, such as blog posts, and skipped for the others, such as site settings. This effectively solves decaporg/decap-cms#1571 and decaporg/decap-cms#3656. - Bug fixes and improvements.
