• Custom field type controls can now add files to the entry draft with the new addFile prop, so a control that produces files — an image editor, a thumbnail generator, or one that downloads a remote image — can have them uploaded along with the entry when it’s saved, just like a built-in File or Image field. The field’s media_folder, max_file_size, transformations and other internal media options apply, and the Editorial Workflow and Open Authoring work as usual. This replaces the undocumented onPersistMedia prop in Netlify/Decap CMS. (#961)
• Added the CMS.renderRichText() method, which renders a Markdown string into a DOM element with the same pipeline as the preview pane: custom editor components, syntax highlighting, internal image paths and sanitization included. It’s designed for a custom editor component whose toPreview returns a DOM element, where the value of a nested RichText field would otherwise be displayed verbatim. Editor components can now be nested recursively, too. (#933)
• The KeyValue field type now accepts i18n: duplicate_keys, which copies the keys from the default locale to the other locales while keeping the values translatable. This is useful for dictionaries whose keys are shared across locales. (#940)
• Nested collections now support localized folder names when the entry slugs are localized with the localize filter, so every locale can have fully localized permalinks for nested content. The Edit Slug dialog and the path editor show the folder for each locale. (#962)
