Insights: anonymous usage statistics
Tagr can now send one anonymous report a day, so we can see how Tagr is actually used and decide what to work on next. The aggregated results are public: https://tagr.xavirincon.com/insights
What is sent
Only counts and flags:
- Tagr version, OS / architecture, and whether it runs in Docker
- Library size and number of songs per file format
- Number of users, and tag edits / plays in the last 7 days
- Which features are in use (smart playlists, saved filters, shared links, scrobbling)
Never file names, paths, tags or user names.
You stay in control
- Nothing is sent until an admin has seen the in-app notice. Updating Tagr does not start sending reports by itself.
- Turn it off at any time in Settings → Insights.
- Or turn it off for good with the env var
TAGR_INSIGHTS=false, which overrides the Settings toggle. - Settings also has a Send now button to send a report right away.
The first report goes out 30 minutes after startup and then once every 24 hours. Details: https://github.com/suitux/Tagr#insights
