⚠️ This build needs playtesting — please compare it against v0.1.2 before relying on it.
v0.1.3 is a clean rebuild on a much newer upstream framework (see below), so a side-by-side check against v0.1.2 is the way to catch any regression. Points to compare specifically:
- Intro FMV audio — v0.1.1 fixed a crackle/micro-cut issue in a fork patch; confirm it's still clean here.
- Title screen — no thin black column on the right edge of 24‑bit frames.
- Gameplay speed & feel — should match v0.1.2 (v0.1.3 also adds a high‑refresh‑monitor pacing fix).
- Controller / launcher / video options, save data, boot to Stage 1+.
What changed in 0.1.3
- Rebuilt from a clean project scaffold on the latest upstream framework —
psxrecomp847d76f0+recomp-uid8bbe1c(2026‑08‑28), replacing the olderstrider2-fixesfork pins. This pulls in the SteamOS / immutable‑filesystem self‑compilation fixes (mstan/psxrecompeefa4a9eand related) so SteamOS / Steam Deck players can Generate & build the title from their own legal disc without the earlier build errors. Windows and several Linux‑distro self‑build fixes are included too, plus upstream hardening/hotfixes since v0.1.2. [video] vsync = "off"— on high‑refresh displays (120 Hz+), driver vsync was pacing the emulator to the panel refresh, running the whole game at ~2× speed. The fixed 59.94 Hz wall‑clock pacer now owns frame cadence.- Carried runtime tuning from the previous build: overlay compile cache + gcc overlay backend, widescreen offer off, lower audio bridge buffer (30 ms), multitap analog.
SteamOS / Steam Deck: use einhander-0.1.3-linux-x64.zip.
Not included: the game, Sony BIOS, save data, or copyrighted disc/cover assets. Status: experimental.
