🚀📦 PXPlay Multi Platform Release
PC v3.1.0 • Android v8.1.1
PXPlay PC v3.1.0 is now available for Windows, Linux and macOS.
v3.1.0 builds directly on the big v3.0.0 release and is all about polish. It brings smoother frame generation and frame pacing, important rendering and decoder fixes, a further modernized interface, better DualSense haptics and motion controls, focus fixes and much more robust third-party launcher integration.
The Android version remains on v8.1.1 and is unchanged. Its release notes are included further below for reference.
🖥️ PXPlay PC v3.1.0
⏪ In Case You Missed v3.0.0
v3.0.0 was one of the biggest PXPlay PC updates so far: local multiplayer for PS4 and PS5, frame generation and interpolation, the new D3D12 renderer on Windows, DualSense haptic feedback over Bluetooth, Steam shortcuts that launch straight into a stream, remote console registration through PSN and direct game launching from your recently played games.
All of that is of course still part of v3.1.0. The full v3.0.0 release notes can be found here:

🌟 Major Highlights
🎞️ Smoother Frame Generation and Frame Pacing
Frame generation was one of the biggest new features of v3.0.0, and v3.1.0 makes it much more consistent.
- Frame generation and frame pacing now follow the frame rate a session actually requests from the console, including per-console overrides. Before, frame generation could stay idle or run unevenly whenever the per-console setting differed from the global one.
- Fixed short bursts of stutter every few seconds with frame generation, caused by the stream and the display refresh drifting past each other.
- Improved frame generation on D3D11, D3D12, Metal and Vulkan.
- The performance overlay now shows the stream rate and the displayed rate side by side, for example
FG 2x: 30 -> 60 FPS.
🖼️ Rendering and Decoder Fixes
- Fixed PXPlay closing on some Intel Iris Xe systems, where the graphics driver crashed while PXPlay checked for D3D12 support.
- The checks for D3D12, D3D11 and Metal now run in a separate helper process, so a misbehaving graphics driver can no longer take PXPlay down with it.
- The check results are remembered until PXPlay, Windows, macOS or the graphics driver changes, so the renderer list is ready as soon as the settings open.
- Fixed PS4 streams showing no picture on macOS when HDR was enabled.
- Fixed the onscreen touchpad appearing in the Vulkan renderer when it was not in use.
- Updated FFmpeg to 8.1.3.
- Improved Vulkan renderer stability on Windows.
🎨 Further Modernized Interface
The modernization of the PXPlay interface continues with v3.1.0.
- New animated home screen background with light, waves and particles that drift gently.
- Choose between Modern (animated, the new default), Static and Classic (the plain background of earlier versions) under Settings → Appearance → Background.
- Refreshed button shapes throughout the app.
- The selected console card and recently played games now scale up with a smooth animation.
- Redesigned the PSN login and port forwarding screens.
- Fixed focus issues in the console registration and PSN login screens.
🎮 DualSense, Motion and Controller Improvements
- Improved DualSense haptic feedback over Bluetooth, especially on macOS.
- The adaptive trigger strength set on the PlayStation is now applied as well.
- Fixed the camera continuing to turn on handhelds such as the ROG Ally X after the device was held still.
- Slow, precise gyro movements are no longer lost.
- Motion sensors of Windows handhelds are now read with lower latency.
- Handhelds use PXPlay's previous, proven motion sensor method by default again. The newer method remains available as Improved handheld motion controls in the gamepad settings.
- Added keyboard mappings for Microphone, Exit Stream and Aspect Ratio.
🧩 Better Third-Party Launcher Integration
v3.0.0 opened PXPlay up for third-party launchers, and v3.1.0 makes launcher starts much more robust.
- Launchers can now see and answer PXPlay's dialogs, such as the console login PIN, an error message or a choice, instead of those dialogs waiting unseen behind the launcher.
- A launcher start no longer waits on the warning about installed screen recording software such as OBS or Bandicam. It is only written to the log now.
- Remote Play streams started by a launcher connect to the right PS5 using its stored PSN device ID, instead of asking when several consoles match.
--title-idstarts now launch the game after the console asked for its login PIN, and renew an older Remote Play token first.- On Windows, PXPlay started by a launcher no longer sends controller presses as key presses to other applications.
- Streams started from PXPlay itself behave exactly as before.
