The newest PXPlay Android v7.1.0 update is now officially released!
This version builds on last week’s major v7.0.0 upgrade by fixing a rare freezing issue, improving stability, and resolving HDR display problems on certain devices.

The PC version remains on v1.5.0, and its release notes are included below unchanged for reference.

To use PXPlay you need a license key which can be purchased here.
Windows, Linux and macOS share the same license key, while the Android APK requires its own license.

📱 PXPlay Android v7.1.0

Version 7.1.0 is a stability-focused update following the major upgrades introduced in 7.0.0.
If you experienced stream freezes, decoding issues, or HDR display anomalies, this update should resolve them.

🧊 Fix for Rare Stream Freezing Issue

• Resolved a decoder memory fallback issue that could cause video playback to stall permanently
• Affected devices now recover automatically without needing to restart the stream

🚫 Crash Fixes & Exception Handling

• Fixed several exceptions that occurred during decoder initialization
• Improved internal error handling to avoid rare crash scenarios

🌈 HDR Screen Display Fix

• Some devices produced incorrect HDR output due to an internal colorMode flag
• The flag has been removed (not required for SurfaceView rendering), restoring correct HDR color handling

The PC version of PXPlay v1.5.0 remains unchanged and fully compatible with the Android 7.1.0 release.

This release introduces a range of new features and improvements across Windows, Linux, and macOS (Intel & Apple Silicon).
