What's new in v9.4.1

E.ON Next users: E.ON Next has stopped accepting email/password sign-in for its API, so kraken_auth_method: email no longer works. This release adds a Kraken API key generator to the web interface, under Advanced → Kraken API Key. Use it to create a key, then switch to kraken_auth_method: api_key (see #5580). A rejected login now also shows in predbat.status, and binary_sensor.predbat_components_healthy turns off. Before, Predbat carried on quietly with stale smart-charging slots.

Also in this release:

• Control failure detection: Predbat now notices when the battery does not follow a charge, export or freeze command, and reports it.
• New installs: the load forecast now uses today's recorded load from the first day.
• Kraken: several fixes for EDF and E.ON Next.
• Web menu: the top menu is reorganised, with new Settings and Advanced sub-menus.
• PV90 default: the default PV90 load scaling rises from 0.7 to 0.9.

New Features

• Control failures: Predbat checks that the battery actually follows each Charging, Force Export and Freeze slot, and counts a slot as failed when it doesn't, for example a cloud write that never landed, an inverter app overriding the mode, or a BMS limit. Shown in the new predbat.control_failures (last 24 hours) and predbat.control_failures_total sensors and the Metrics page by @springfall2008 in #5563
• Kraken API key generator: create an E.ON Next or EDF API key from a token copied out of your browser, in the web interface under Advanced → Kraken API Key by @springfall2008 in #5585
• Load forecast: a new install forecasts times of day it has not seen on a previous day from today's recorded load, instead of near zero, so the first nights' charge is sized properly (#5548) by @springfall2008 in #5553
• Load history: when the load sensor changes, earlier days are filled in from predbat.load_energy_h0 rather than reused from the newest day by @springfall2008 in #5570

Changed Defaults

• Plan: the default PV90 load scaling (load_scaling90) rises from 0.7 to 0.9, so the low-load scenario no longer pulls evening exports too early and leaves the house importing at peak rate before off-peak starts. Only affects you if you haven't changed this setting (#5566) by @chalfontchubby in #5577

Kraken (EDF and E.ON Next)

• Show a rejected login in predbat.status and components_healthy, and stop republishing stale smart-charging dispatches as if they were fresh (#5582) by @springfall2008 in #5583
• E.ON Next: bill smart-charging dispatches for the whole planned window, as E.ON does, via the new intelligent_dispatch_billing setting (auto picks this for E.ON) (#5521) by @springfall2008 in #5581

Octopus and Car Charging

• Octopus Intelligent: count the daily dispatch cap in minutes rather than half-hour blocks, so a 10-minute dispatch no longer uses 30 minutes of it (#5510) by @springfall2008 in #5512

• Hold software-controlled charging at the target after an overshoot, using the freeze service instead of releasing the battery to supply the house by @Jeff-Bond-UK in #5541
• Gateway: fix staging and activation of Hub EMS paired charge/export windows by @mgazza in #5559
• Gateway: tell Predbat that EMS schedule windows cannot cross midnight by @mgazza in #5558
• Fix day-boundary edge cases for inverters whose windows cannot cross midnight by @mgazza in #5560

Web Interface

• Menu reorganised: Metrics now sits after Dash and Charts after Plan. Apps, Config, Components and Editor move under a new Settings menu, which shows the ⚠ when apps.yaml has an error. Discovery, Browse and Internals move under Advanced (in #5585)
• Charts: the Battery chart starts at midnight today again, instead of a week back by @springfall2008 in #5586
