v1.2.5 — Fix wrong clip being saved or shown

Fixes clips sometimes saving or showing the wrong video.

What was wrong

Two separate bugs could make the clip you just recorded turn out to be a different video.

  • Wrong file claimed as the new clip. The recorder detected the freshly flushed replay by comparing the clips folder against a snapshot taken when recording started. Any file that appeared in between, such as a finished session recording, a clip you renamed in the UI, or a late flush from a previous save, could be mistaken for the new clip. That file then got renamed, trimmed to the clip length, and shown instead of the real replay.
  • Old video played for a new clip. Clip numbers are reused after deletes, so a brand-new clip can be named Vice_Clip_5 when an older Vice_Clip_5 was deleted. The app's webview could serve the old video from its cache for the new clip. Trimming a clip could similarly show the pre-trim version.

What changed

  • The recorder now snapshots the clips folder at the moment you press the hotkey, and only files created by gpu-screen-recorder itself can be claimed as the new clip. Session recordings, renamed clips, and temp files are never touched.
  • Video URLs are now tied to the exact file on disk, and the server tells browsers to revalidate before reusing cached video. The clip you see is always the clip you saved.
  • Interrupted in-app trims no longer leave stale temp files behind after a restart.
