Rich, collapsible Tinker output
- Render browser results with Symfony VarDumper, including Laravel model and collection casters.
- Show escaped stdout before returned values or exceptions, preserving literal markup and whitespace.
- Apply configurable depth, item, and string limits, including limits for flat arrays.
- Keep plain-text responses as the endpoint default. Disable rich browser output with
WEB_TINKER_RICH_OUTPUT_ENABLED=false. - Validate code and format inputs, and keep scripts out of dump response fragments.
- Add browser regression coverage and modernize frontend builds and PHP style checks while retaining the existing published asset paths and Mix manifest.
Requirements and upgrading
- PHP 8.2+ and Laravel 12 or 13. Laravel 13 requires PHP 8.3+; unsupported Laravel 10/11 support has been removed.
- Run
php artisan web-tinker:installafter upgrading to refresh published assets. Update any published package Blade view as well. - Frontend contributors should use Node.js 22.12+ and
npm ci.
Verification
29 PHP tests (73 assertions), three real-browser tests, Pint, Composer validation, and reproducible production builds passed locally. GitHub Actions was still queued during a GitHub service incident when this release was published; CI was not confirmed green.
