The Game Menu Release
Every tab in the game menu now works with a controller. Social, Collections, Crafting, Skills, Animals, Powers, Options — all navigable with D-pad/thumbstick, with proper visual cursors, scrolling, and A-button interaction.
New Features
Game Menu Tabs — Full Controller Navigation
- Social tab: Navigate villagers with D-pad/thumbstick, right stick fast scroll, A opens gift log, LB/RB switches villagers in gift log, B returns with scroll position preserved
- Collections tab: D-pad/thumbstick navigates the item grid and sub-tabs (Crops, Fish, Recipes, Achievements, etc.). Finger cursor replaces red highlight.
- Crafting tab: Finger cursor replaces red highlight
- Skills page: Grid navigation across skill icons and level bars
- Animals tab: D-pad/thumbstick navigates animal list
- Powers tab: Finger cursor replaces glow highlight
- Options tab: Left stick navigates options, A activates/toggles, right stick scrolls. Dropdown menus work.
- LT/RT tab switching: Cycle between all game menu tabs with triggers (console parity)
- GMCM handoff: Controls revert to vanilla when opening Generic Mod Config Menu
Chest Improvements
- Swap system: When inventory/chest is full, A picks up an item for displacement swap. Place it anywhere with A; the displaced item returns to the source. B cancels.
- Touch-sim fix: Items no longer get re-selected after placing them via controller
- Tool transfer: Y strips attachments from rods/slingshots, A transfers loaded tools as-is
Other Fixes
- CarpenterMenu: Clicking "Build" when you can't afford it no longer closes the menu
- Analog triggers: Properly debounced at hardware level — no more multi-slot jumps
- Cutscene skip: Press Start twice to skip (uses native skip icon)
- Codebase cleanup: Removed diagnostic code, fixed GetState cache bug
