Songify 2.0.6
Fixes
- Spotify "API app needs Premium" while using Pear or another player. Songify no longer signs into the Spotify API, refreshes that session, or polls playback unless Spotify is the selected player. The repeating Premium warning is suppressed for all other players, including a warning left over from an earlier session. Saved Spotify credentials stay in settings. Switching the player back to Spotify connects again. Linking an account from Settings or the setup wizard still saves the login. The API session starts only when Spotify is the selected player.
Songify API maintenance
- Songify checks the maintenance status page on startup and about once a minute. While maintenance is on, calls to the Songify API are paused.
- A maintenance notice shows with your other announcements and is removed when maintenance ends.
- If the status page cannot be reached, times out, or returns something that is not a maintenance notice, Songify keeps working. A failed check does not leave the app stuck in maintenance.
- Cloud sync shows the maintenance message instead of a generic connection error.
- YouTube link requests that rely on Songify to look up the video tell chat to request the song by title. Channel-point rewards for those requests are refunded. Title search is unchanged, and a YouTube Data API key of your own is still used when one is set.
- Song requests still queue in the app when the Songify API is unavailable.
- Announcements already loaded stay on screen if a later refresh fails.
Now playing
Songify.txt, cover art, and the on-screen preview update before the canvas download, queue sync, and website upload. A slow Songify API no longer holds the text file back.- Canvas, played-state, and server queue cleanup wait until after the local files are written, and they are skipped during maintenance.
- Songify API sign-in gives up after 5 seconds, so a silent
api.songify.rockscannot stall now playing.
