Breaks

With this release we are adding Breaks to solidtime!

image

Breaks are time entries with a special type, which will not count towards your work time and can be filtered separately. When breaks are enabled, you can start a break directly from the Time Tracker component and resume your work with just one click when you get back.

Breaks are also fully supported Timesheet view. Adding a break there will always try to put it in a valid time frame within your day. If any other time entries have to move or split to make the break fit, it will prompt you with a modal where you can confirm or customize the break position.

To make sure breaks are properly aligned with your work, the application will show warnings if breaks are not placed within a 30-minute tolerance of two time entries. However storing breaks is not restricted.

The easiest way to see and adjust breaks is the calendar view, where breaks are also fully supported. Just like regular time entries, they can be drag, dropped and resized.

Breaks are disabled by default to avoid UI clutter for users who do not need them. If you want to use breaks you have to enable the "Allow tracking breaks" option in your organization settings.
