V1.1.1
New board: NerdAxeGaia
The NerdAxeGaia is a new single-ASIC board built around Bitmain's BM1373, powered by a TPS546D24A from 12 V, with a LilyGO T-Display-S3. It comes with its own display theme and a new gold Gaia web theme.
Ethernet for the NerdQAxe family
The W5500 Ethernet HAT now works on the NerdQAxe+, NerdQAxe++ and NerdOCTAXE-Gamma (and on the NerdAxeGaia via its own interposer). Just plug it in: the firmware checks at boot whether the HAT answers and only then brings Ethernet up, so the same firmware runs with or without it.
A few combinations can't use the HAT because the pins are shared:
- NerdOCTAXE-Gamma rev3.4 and NerdQX boards with the temperature multiplexer
- boards with the CAN HAT fitted
Security: updated certificate store
After the eMudhra CA compromise, the firmware now ships its own pinned certificate store (Mozilla/curl bundle from October 20, 2026) instead of ESP-IDF's built-in lists. It is used for Stratum TLS with "System certificate", the GitHub updater, external API requests and Discord notifications. If you mine over TLS, we recommend updating.
If you use TLS with a custom certificate, that certificate is used as before, so please check it yourself.
Stability fixes
- The found-block screen can be dismissed again. Since 1.1.0 it stayed on the display permanently.
- Fixed a crash after reconnecting to a pool that sent an incomplete subscribe response.
- Stratum V2: the miner now tells the pool that it requires version rolling, and refuses pools that forbid it, instead of producing invalid shares.
- Updated to ESP-IDF 5.3.6.
Smaller improvements
- Per-chip hardware error rate, available via the v2 dashboard API.
- The reset dialog can now optionally also reset the all-time stats.
- The GitHub updater always lists the latest release first and preselects it.
- New and fixed pool quicklinks: BTC PoW Lab, nerdminer.de, Bitronics, and ping stats for public-pool.io.
For developers: diagnostic builds
Diagnostic pre-releases can now capture panic core dumps for debugging. They are never included in normal releases like this one.
