New

• "Restore update lists on start" option. When it is off, the leftover updates.ini and the empty Updates folder are removed.
• The main menu is drawn in the window title, and the themes are connected through ThemeSupport.
• The app asks for confirmation on exit while maintenance tasks are running.

Auto-start

• Auto-start now uses an elevated logon task, managed through StartupManager.
• The "Run in background" option is renamed to "Run at Windows startup (in tray)".
• An outdated auto-start entry and the UAC skip task are repaired on start.
• The auto-start task is re-registered after the executable is moved.
• The auto-start task is detected when the app runs without admin rights.
• The option reverts if registration fails, and the old entry is kept if moving it to a task fails.
• A failure is reported when auto-start cannot be disabled without admin rights.
• The app no longer prompts to start the update service when it is started in the tray.
• The app no longer blocks Windows shutdown while it runs in the tray.

Updates

• Manual updates are downloaded over HTTPS where available.
• The type of downloaded files without an extension is detected.
• msiexec exit code 1 is now treated as a failure.
• Installer processes are started under the cancellation lock.
• Windows Update Agent errors in the service and history calls are handled.
• The update agent is reinitialized around the cache cleanup.
• Update searches no longer start during cache cleanup or optimization.

Security and stability

• Tools commands are guarded when the application folder is user-writable.
