github securo-finance/securo v0.16.3

In this release a bank-synced transaction can be renamed without losing what the bank sent, and the Kazakhstani tenge joins the currency list. The rest is a round of fixes that came almost entirely from reports: a category you never use can finally be deleted, a refund stops being ignored by its category's budget, an OFX file with a non-standard encoding header imports instead of failing, Enable Banking names a transaction after the counterparty when the bank sends no description, and the dashboard and the sidebar agree on what each account is worth.

Features

  • Rename a bank-synced transaction. The description becomes editable from the edit dialog, with the bank's own text kept underneath and a Restore original link to go back to it. The amount, date and account stay as the bank sent them. Closes #1056, by @fredson-sumi (#1057) ๐ŸŽ‰
  • Kazakhstani tenge. By @Alatau-AS (#983) ๐ŸŽ‰

Fixes

  • Default categories could not be deleted. Any category or group can now go, and deleting one that is still in use asks where to move its entries. Closes #652, by @yianniscy84 (#751) ๐ŸŽ‰
  • A refund did not count against its category's budget. Budget spending read debits only, so money coming back into a category never reduced what it had spent. Closes #728, by @vjymisal0 (#757) ๐ŸŽ‰
  • OFX import failed on a non-standard encoding header. A file whose SGML header declares an encoding the parser does not know crashed the import instead of being read. Closes #746, by @smkbarbosa (#794) ๐ŸŽ‰
  • Enable Banking called everything "Transaction". When a bank sends no description, the name now comes from the counterparty, and a transaction carrying only a transaction date is no longer dropped. Closes #734 and #753, by @vjymisal0 (#756) ๐ŸŽ‰
  • The dashboard and the sidebar disagreed about balances. Both now order accounts by the balance they actually display and convert to your primary currency, falling back to the native one when no rate is available. By @panga (#895) ๐ŸŽ‰
  • The active-collection selector locked the page scroll and reported its contents as 8a ยท 3w. The scrollbar stays put, the counts read as accounts and wallets in your language, and the Accounts page honours the filter the sidebar was already applying. Closes #584, by @DannyFeliz (#585) ๐ŸŽ‰
  • A group member linked from another workspace could not save a split. The write path checked workspace ownership while every read path checked visibility, so a split that could be seen could not be saved. Closes #972, by @wolfgang-aura (#1039) ๐ŸŽ‰
  • An opening balance kept the amount of a duplicate that had been removed. The accounts that lost rows to the phantom cleanup are reconciled again once it finishes. Closes #1028, by @rhuanbarreto (#1029) ๐ŸŽ‰
  • A brokerage settlement account looked like its bank's checking account. A banking group reports both under one connection with the same type and the same masked number; the institution is now hinted per account. Closes #723, by @vhsantos26 (#724) ๐ŸŽ‰
  • The bulk action bar sat off centre, and drifted further when the sidebar was collapsed. Closes #1027, by @Kernelkun (#1041, #1044) ๐ŸŽ‰
  • A notice about synced transactions used a dash where the rest of the interface uses a colon, in fourteen languages (#1081)

Under the hood

No migration: a 0.16.2 database is already at the schema this release expects ยท two invoice test modules were pinned to dates that would have turned them red on their own (#1059, #1079) ยท uv moved to 0.12.19 (#1047) and the backend dependencies were refreshed (#1048)

Thanks @fredson-sumi, @Alatau-AS, @yianniscy84, @vjymisal0, @smkbarbosa, @panga, @DannyFeliz, @wolfgang-aura, @rhuanbarreto, @vhsantos26 and @Kernelkun for the code and the reviews, and @marcor2196, @Krishnamarda, @jfrcom, @MJanssen13 and @henriqueberlesi for the reports ๐Ÿ’œ
