Version 2.25.0 is a large release headlined by subscription tracking, expanded amount-privacy controls, and fixes that make currency handling rock-solid across budgets, widgets, and Home. It also adds five new banks and brings the full app to 13 languages.

What's New

• Subscription tracking: PennyWise now spots repeat charges in your history, flags when a price quietly changes, and reminds you before a bill is due — plus it suggests recurring bills it found that you haven't tracked yet
• New bank support: City Bank Bangladesh, Commercial Bank of Ceylon (ComBank, Sri Lanka), Arab Bank (debit card purchases), Islamic International Arab Bank (incoming CliQ payments), and Orange Money (Jordan)
• Amount privacy extended to every screen — shake your phone anywhere in the app to instantly hide or reveal all figures
• App Lock overhaul: the timeout now counts from when you leave the app, the Recents preview is hidden while locked, and the 'Immediately' setting no longer skips the lock on return
• Suggest transactions from SMS of banks PennyWise doesn't officially support yet — confirm one and it learns the sender automatically for future messages
• Richer transaction notifications: category shown in the header, a one-tap 'Not an expense' button, and you can now pick up transaction alerts from any app you choose
• New pill-style navigation bar with each tab's main action docked right next to it
• Refreshed look with Material 3 Expressive components: morphing chips, segmented rows, and fluid motion throughout
• Currency fixes: budgets convert automatically when you change your base currency, widgets and Home figures now show the correct currency for non-INR users, and transaction totals are calculated with exact arithmetic instead of floating-point
• Crash fix on Android 11 and older devices when viewing 1,000+ transactions
• SBI: outgoing NEFT delivery confirmations are no longer incorrectly booked as income
• Home screen leads with decisions first; 'Safe to spend' is now capped at what's actually left in your budget
• PennyWise asks for a starting balance when your bank's SMS messages don't include one
• 'Didn't find your bank?' shortcut offered when a first SMS scan saves nothing
• Choose your preferred date format in Settings
• Built-in category names now appear in your app language; full app translation across 13 languages
• Large backups and folder restores now stream instead of loading entirely into memory; CSV files saved with a UTF-8 BOM now import correctly
• Evening recap automatically sorts any of today's transactions that arrived out of order
