- Status gets its own tab in the side panel. The ShelvesHub tab keeps three areas — Updates,
Settings, Troubleshooting — and the side panel now has Notifications, Status and Logs: "View
status" in Troubleshooting (or Ctrl+Shift+T) opens the readout that used to sit squeezed under
the other rows. - Big Picture behind another window no longer pauses ShelvesHub. On a Mac (or any desktop),
covering or minimizing Big Picture used to read as "back to the desktop client": the hub stood
down and skipped updates until the window was in front again. It now asks Steam which interface
is active. - macOS: the menu-bar icon comes back on its own after a crash; a Quit from its menu still
holds until the next login. - Windows: a log file, no console window, restarts under the task. The service writes
%LOCALAPPDATA%\ShelvesHub\logs\out.log, starts hidden from the logon task (closing a window
can no longer end it), comes back under that task after "Restart service" or a self-update, and
the binaries no longer need the Visual C++ redistributable. - The hub view stays where you left it. Switching to another Quick Access tab and back brings
back the ShelvesHub view you opened from the Deck Shelves editor (the side panel closes on the
way out), so its gestures and shortcuts keep working. A second copy of ShelvesHub started while
one already runs now exits with a clear log line instead of running without its control port. - Plugin auto-update in cooperative mode. With the new
coop_bundleoption on (next to
force_owner), ShelvesHub runs and updates its own copy of Deck Shelves even when a plugin loader
is present: the loader's copy (Deck Shelves 3.4.0 or newer) stands down at the next Steam start
and its entry points at the ShelvesHub tab, and the shelves appear when the hub's first injection
lands (about 25 s after a restart on a Steam Deck). If the hub never shows up, the loader's copy
boots itself after a minute and the hub stops asking for a day. Off by default. - Forced ownership no longer flips to "sole" after a restart. The hub now waits for the plugin
loader to show up before hosting, so a Deck with a plugin loader and forced ownership lands in
cooperative mode as intended. - Go back a version when an update misbehaves. Updates now keep the previous ShelvesHub and the
previous Deck Shelves around, and the tab's Updates section has "Go back to the previous …" rows
(tap twice) that restore them in seconds, no download needed. The version you left is held back
from automatic updates until a newer one comes out, so it stays undone until you decide otherwise. - See what's new before it applies. When an update is pending, the tab shows its release notes
in a collapsed "What's new" section. - Quiet updates. By default, automatic updates now wait until no game is running before
downloading or swapping anything (switch it off under Automatic updates). "Check now" still
updates right away, and a held-back Deck Shelves release gets an "Update now" button. - Safer automatic downloads. A Deck Shelves download that fails or doesn't match its checksum can
no longer leave a broken bundle in place — it is verified before it replaces anything. - Logs open beside the tab, full height. "View logs" now widens the Quick Access menu and shows
the log stream in a panel next to the ShelvesHub view (like the friends list does), instead of a
small box under the buttons. The panel has two tabs, Logs and Notifications, with icons beside
the ShelvesHub title to open either; it also opens like the plugin's own side panel — press
right twice on the gamepad at the right edge of the hub view (left out of it closes) — or from
a keyboard with Ctrl+Shift+N, Ctrl+Shift+T or Ctrl+Shift+L (Notifications, Status, Logs). LB /
RB switch tabs inside it, B closes it, and
each notification shows its sender's mark like the Steam toast did. - Notifications now look and behave like Steam's. The notifications this host shows — Deck
Shelves' too — go through Steam's own notification system: Steam's sound, position and in-game
overlay, an entry in the Notifications tab, Steam's own look, each sender with its own mark.
The old toast card is gone; "Steam notifications" in Configuration turns the whole thing off. - ShelvesHub tells you what it did. A notification when ShelvesHub comes back updated (or
rolled back), when an update is downloaded and waits for a restart, when Deck Shelves was
updated or rolled back, when cooperative mode paused itself, and when the Steam interface
collapsed and ShelvesHub restarted it. The side panel's Notifications tab keeps the last ones,
with an unread badge on its icon. - Your ShelvesHub settings follow you between devices. The update switches, quiet updates,
Steam notifications and the boot animation now sync through your Steam account: change one
on the Deck and the Mac picks it up (and the other way round), the most recent change winning
for each setting. Ports, paths, ownership and the like stay per device. A device syncing for
the first time takes over what is already there. "Sync settings across devices" in the tab's
Configuration section turns it off; Status shows when the last sync ran. - A fuller reports dashboard. The project site's dashboard now charts every quality gate
per run, test counts and pass rates, lint and complexity debt, code size, docs and
localization, how long each step takes, repository traffic and a stable vs pre-release
download split, and reads platform coverage from the QA matrix. - Site page counting, privacy-first and off by default. The site can count page views with
a free, cookie-less counter and says so in its footer; it only activates once a site code is
set, and never runs inside ShelvesHub or Deck Shelves.
