v0.2.8 — DLSS stays in the menu with self-built DLSS DLLs

Thank you to Flippage for the first DLSS run on real NVIDIA hardware and the report behind this fix (#18).

Fixes

  • PC Options > Graphics > Upscaler keeps NVIDIA DLSS (#18). The menu decided when gow2.exe was compiled whether DLSS exists, so the release exe with self-built DLSS DLLs lost the DLSS choice after you switched to FSR. It now asks the runtime: DLLs built with NVIDIA's SDK register gow2_dlss_runtime (SDK patch 0030), and then the menu offers DLSS.

DLSS with the release exe

The release has no DLSS: NVIDIA's DLSS SDK license does not allow it in an open-source release. With your own copy of NVIDIA's DLSS SDK you can build the SDK DLLs with scripts/build-sdk.ps1 (without -NoDlss) from the v0.2.8 tag (older DLLs lack the flag) and copy rexruntime.dll, rexgpu-xenos.dll and nvngx_dlss.dll next to the release gow2.exe; then set the upscaler to NVIDIA DLSS in the menu (or gow2_temporal = true and gow2_upscaler = "dlss"). Confirmed by Flippage on an RTX 5060 Ti (driver 32.0.16.1742, nvngx_dlss.dll 310.9.16, 1280x704 upscaled to 2560x1408), with a cleaner image than FSR when roadie-running and switching cover.

Host tests: all 5 steps pass. The Android APK builds and passes its library checks. The DLSS menu entry with self-built DLLs is not tested here (no NVIDIA GPU); reports in #18 are welcome.
