- A switch whose command fails no longer keeps a state that was never
confirmed: it falls back to the value the charger reports, or to Unknown when
there is none. Overlapping commands are handled individually, so a failure no
longer discards the state established by a later command, nor leaves behind a
state that neither command achieved.
