Orbit Store 1.8.0 (Beta)

Orbit now speaks 15 new languages and can automatically shut down your PS5 when downloads, transfers and installations finish.

• 15 more languages. Orbit now supports 26 languages, adding Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Ukrainian, Czech, Greek, Romanian, Portuguese (Portugal), Swedish, Danish, Norwegian Bokmål, Finnish and Indonesian. Arabic has a mirrored layout.
• Shut down when everything finishes. Schedule your PS5 to turn off after its downloads, transfers and installations finish. A 60-second countdown lets you cancel from Orbit Store or Orbit Zero. This is off by default, and unfinished or failed work keeps the console on.
• Vikingfile Premium fixes. Fixed cases where checking, starting or resuming a download did not use your signed-in account.
• Settings that are easier to find. Downloads, Storage & cleanup, Sources & accounts and Devices now have separate sections across all four layouts. Updates, diagnostics and Support Orbit are easier to find too. Your saved preferences stay the same.
• Better use of your available space. Orbit keeps your preferred drive when it has enough room, otherwise suggests a drive with more space. Your own drive selection takes priority.

Orbit stays free. Orbit Store, Orbit Zero, Orbit Play and our upcoming apps are free and will stay free.

Orbit Store · Native PS5 app (FFPKG) and browser (ELF)

• Better app updates. Orbit updates the native app wherever you installed it and clearly tells you when a restart is needed to run the new version.
• Choose what happens when clearing downloads. Clear one download or the finished list, with the choice to keep or delete the files. Review their paths and sizes before confirming. Controller navigation stays inside the dialog, and failed deletions keep the entry available to retry.
• Shut down after a chosen download. Select Shut down when finished on a download and confirm. Orbit shows that it is scheduled, with Cancel automatic shutdown on the same item. Other unfinished work still keeps the PS5 on.
• Bug fixes and improvements. Covers and backgrounds use less memory in the native app. Orbit can also recognise a download drive after it remounts following a restart or repair, checking the saved partial file before resuming.

Orbit Zero · Mac, Windows and Linux

• Change drives without downloading again. Send the copy on your computer to another PS5 drive, even after the original transfer finishes. Zero shows available space, accounts for queued transfers and blocks destinations it knows are too small. Only the transfer starts over; a completed copy on the original drive stays. Installation also warns when internal space is low.
• Choose which files to keep. When clearing history, keep all files or delete the computer copy, PS5 copy or both. Review the paths and sizes before confirming.
• Clearer computer and PS5 settings. Controls are labelled This computer or On this PS5. The Downloads gear opens download settings, while pairing and connection controls are under Devices.
• Control automatic shutdown from Zero. Schedule shutdown for all PS5 downloads or choose a specific one, with confirmation and cancellation on the download itself. Keep Zero open until its work finishes; disconnecting with unfinished work keeps the PS5 on.

Install Orbit Zero on your computer

Choose the package matching your computer from Assets: macOS DMG, Windows installer or ZIP, or Ubuntu/Debian DEB. Linux TAR.GZ packages are also available. Both ARM64 and x64 builds are included; Linux DEB names use amd64 for Intel/AMD computers. Quit the older app before installing the new version. See the installation guide for setup and operating-system permissions.

Install the native TV app (FFPKG)

Download PPSA99177.ffpkg from Assets, verify its .sha256, and copy it to /data/homebrew/ on your PS5. Let ShadowMountPlus register it, then open Orbit Store from the Games row. Native app 1.12.0 includes the matching Orbit Store 1.8.0 service.

If an older Orbit service is running, select Stop Orbit to restart in its browser interface before opening the updated app so the new service can start. Pairing, settings and your queue remain saved. This control is under App settings → Updates & startup in this release; older releases may call the section Update / reinstall or Updates. Native installation and update guide.

Use or update the browser version (ELF)

Download orbit_store.elf and its .sha256 from Assets, verify the checksum, then run the ELF through Payload Manager or your ELF loader. Open the Orbit shortcut in the Media tab, or http://<ps5-ip>:34177/ on another device on the same local network.

To replace a running older version, select Stop Orbit to restart, then launch the new ELF. Orbit Zero also includes the matching ELF under Console → Start Orbit on PS5, so you can upload it from your computer without downloading the ELF separately.

On Orbit 1.5.0 or later, Update Orbit updates the TV app and the service together. Keep your local ELF loader running on port 9021 for automatic service restart. If you use Payload Manager or the loader is unavailable, follow Orbit’s manual launch instructions. Reopen the TV app after updating it.

Downloads and source

• orbit_store.elf is the PS5 service and browser interface; PPSA99177.ffpkg is the native TV app with the same service included.
• Orbit-Zero-* files are the desktop packages. Choose the operating system and architecture matching your computer.
• The orbit-store-1.8.0-source-bundle.zip contains the corresponding Store application and dependency sources, licence notices and rebuild instructions.
• SHA256SUMS covers the release assets. Verify a binary with shasum -a 256 -c <filename>.sha256, or use SHA256SUMS for the desktop packages.
