Orbit Store 0.2.0-beta.3

A modern, no-BS download manager for PS5. This is an experimental beta.

What is included

  • Direct PS5 downloads and a persistent queue with pause, resume and optional partial-file cleanup.
  • 147 games, grouped by title, with single-file FFPFSC options from Archive.org.
  • External artwork URLs for every game, with publisher metadata where verified; no game images are bundled.
  • Discover has two rows: Latest releases, ordered by verified game release date, then All games.
  • Browse supports search and pages of 48 games, with controller focus preserved.
  • Pair devices keeps the code visible on the PS5 until you close it. Show code on PS5 repeats the notification from your phone or computer, with a 30-second cooldown.
  • App settings → Update / reinstall checks the official feed and installs or reinstalls its checksum-verified ELF on the console.
  • Running and saved versions are shown separately, with a clear restart-needed state.
  • Stop Orbit to restart saves a paused queue, then stops only Orbit. Start the saved ELF from your payload manager to finish.
  • Media-tab icon, local-network controls and payload-manager auto-start settings.

Install

Download orbit_store.elf, verify its SHA-256 below, then run it once through your payload manager or ELF loader. Open Orbit Store from the PS5 Media tab. On another device, visit http://<ps5-ip>:34177/ and select Pair devices.

Updating an existing installation

For beta.2 or earlier, replace the existing ELF in Payload Manager, pause downloads and stop only the identifiable Orbit process in Active Processes, then run the new ELF. If you cannot identify the process confidently, restart the console when convenient and launch the new ELF after the jailbreak. Keep the Orbit icon and saved data. Loading another ELF while Orbit is active saves it for the next start; it does not replace the running session.

From beta.3, use App settings → Update / reinstall, then Stop Orbit to restart and launch the saved ELF. Pairing, source choices and the download queue remain saved.

Validation and beta limits

Local backend regressions cover transfers, pause/resume, recovery, source identity, storage checks, pairing and the update/reinstall lifecycle. Updater fixtures cover checksum failures, invalid ELF files, untrusted URLs/redirects, older releases, rate limits, copy failures and preserved state. Desktop and phone browser checks cover the update/reinstall controls, restart notice and stop confirmation. Catalogue and launcher regression checks also pass. All 147 options have matching file metadata, download headers and bounded-range verification evidence. Existing evidence is preserved; newly imported files receive fresh range checks.

Full game transfers on PS5, reboot/auto-start acceptance, and other firmware versions remain unverified. Vikingfile is selectable but has no compatible download options in this build. Orbit does not extract archives, install or launch games, or download in rest mode. Third-party URLs can change or disappear. Only download material you are entitled to obtain and use.

Source and licences

Orbit Store is free software under the GNU GPL, version 3 or later. orbit-store-0.2.0-beta.3-source.tar.gz is the complete source of this payload, built from commit 1bbc56a8e5d82a15e328bc77d9d36d8a266dcf48. Third-party components and their sources are listed in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.md.
