bwenv v3.0.0
V3 makes native shell activation the default and lets you save your preferred hook once: native shell, direnv, or mise. Existing project hook choices remain authoritative.
What changed
- Login automatically updates the current shell through the installed wrapper. Hook messages are compact, consistent, and avoid repeated unchanged summaries.
- Project switching restores previous environment values. Lock, logout, disablement, config changes, and failed approval have explicit, tested behavior.
- Mise activation avoids Node shim recursion and no longer stores a plaintext environment cache.
- Provider errors are redacted, shell output is validated, and CI covers Linux, macOS, Windows, real shell integrations, race detection, and vulnerability checks.
- Downloads include checksums, CycloneDX SBOMs, and GitHub build provenance.

After upgrading, run bwenv init or follow the migration guide and complete the shell setup steps printed for your selected hook. Source installation uses go install github.com/s1ks1/bwenv/v3@v3.0.0 and requires Go 1.25 or newer.
Native shell and mise activation remain experimental. Native PowerShell activation and a memory-only agent cache are not included in this release. Provider integration tests use isolated fixtures; real-vault authentication should be checked in your own environment.
V2 remains available
Download v2.4.1. Existing V2 releases are retained, and the v2 maintenance branch is available for future compatibility patches. V3 is the official latest release.
