v0.0.18 — local intent annotation handling and non-blocking TLS setup
- Create the optional insecure TLS context in Home Assistant's executor, avoiding certificate-loading work on its event loop without changing TLS verification defaults (#56).
- Improve opt-in local intent matching for known Whisper non-speech annotations, including noise-only input. Preserve real parenthesised speech, unknown annotations, cancellation clauses and multi-command requests; forward the original transcript unchanged when Hermes is needed (#57). Local intent handling remains off by default.
- Align all five installation-surface versions, the lockfile and version assertions, and refresh install/release documentation (#59).
- Thanks to Joel Silva (@byjaps) for both runtime contributions.
Upgrade
Update the Home Assistant integration through HACS or manual copy. Reinstall the Hermes-side plugins:
python3 -m pip install --upgrade "hermes-voice-ha-integration @ git+https://github.com/rusty4444/hermes-voice-ha-integration.git@v0.0.18"
hermes-ha-install-pluginsRestart Home Assistant and the Hermes process owning the receiver port; this can be hermes dashboard, not the gateway. Updating HACS alone does not replace the Hermes-side plugins. The wheel is plugin-focused; the source distribution/tag includes the HACS component and add-on scaffold.
Verification and limits
Independent release review passed. Local tests: 203 passed, 1 optional external Edge TTS synthesis check skipped; compilation, wheel/sdist build, metadata/tag/packaging checks and lockfile validation passed. Python 3.11 and 3.12 CI passed for the release tag; attached packages come from that tag's Python 3.12 release-dist artifact.
Mocked HA objects and loopback clients do not establish live Home Assistant or end-to-end voice-device compatibility. Other reporter-confirmation issues remain open; #49 was confirmed resolved on v0.0.17. Panel HUD marker control proposed in #58 is not included. The add-on remains an early scaffold. No deployment or PyPI/container publication is claimed. Release preparation and review used Hermes Agent assistance.
