What's changed

• Preserve undeclared ${...} placeholders when rendering linked-card templates, so JavaScript template literals used by child cards such as custom:button-card are no longer stripped.
• Keep the existing explicit-empty behaviour: variables declared as null still render as an empty string.
• Add regression coverage for undeclared, nested, and explicitly null variables.
