skillshare v0.24.3 Release Notes
TL;DR
- Plugin commands find the Codex CLI that the desktop app ships, and
SKILLSHARE_CODEX_CLIpoints at it when it lives somewhere else. doctorpoints out symlinks and junctions at the top of the skills source, which discovery does not follow.- Shared-memory guidance tells Agents to save to the shared notes instead of their own memory.
Codex CLI discovery
Codex installed only through the Codex desktop app, Homebrew or the Windows installer was not on PATH for Skillshare, so plugin commands for the codex target stopped with a missing-CLI error.
Skillshare now also looks in those places: macOS ChatGPT.app (or Codex.app before the merger), Windows %LOCALAPPDATA%\OpenAI\Codex\bin\<version> and %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\OpenAI\Codex\bin, and Homebrew's /opt/homebrew/bin and /usr/local/bin. When nothing is found, the error lists every place it searched.
On a machine where Codex lives elsewhere, set SKILLSHARE_CODEX_CLI. It is read from the environment, so a config.yaml shared between macOS and Windows needs no machine-specific path.
export SKILLSHARE_CODEX_CLI=/path/to/codex

Links at the top of the skills source
A symlink or Windows junction directly inside the skills source is not followed by discovery, so the skills behind it never reach your Agents. doctor now lists each one as a Source link info row, in global and project mode, without following it or reading its contents. doctor --json reports them as undeclared_source_links checks with status info. With no such links, nothing is added.
A write into the skills source whose path crosses such a link is refused instead of written through it.

Shared-memory guidance
The guidance block connected to each Agent now says that the notes folder is shared by every coding tool and to read INDEX.md at the start of each task.
- In
activemode it says to save a fact worth keeping here rather than in the tool's own memory, gives the note format and theINDEX.mdline to add, and sends a lesson from a failure under a new heading inLEARNED.md. - In
passivemode it still saves only on request, but points out facts worth keeping so you can ask.
Existing guidance blocks show as Outdated on the dashboard's Memory page; reconnect to update them. The --update-mode help now also says that passive saves notes when you ask.
