skillshare v0.24.2 Release Notes

TL;DR

1. Upgrades and the first dashboard start download much faster on throttled networks. Release files now download in parallel parts.
2. The Files settings tab has more room for the editor.

Faster release downloads

GitHub's release file server limits each connection on some networks. There, skillshare upgrade could spend minutes on the 9 MB archive, and the first skillshare ui of a new version waited again for the dashboard files.

Downloads now split the file into 8 parts fetched at the same time, each on its own connection. In one measurement the darwin_arm64 archive went from 171 s to 25 s. Checksums are verified as before, and a server that does not support partial downloads gets a single download as before.

Smaller changes

• More room on the Files settings tab. The editor column is wider, and the panel tabs stay inside the card at narrower widths.
